Generally In Season: July to September

Muskmelon is a species that belongs to the gourd family. Cantaloupe refers to two varieties of muskmelon, which differ slightly in terms of flavour and appearance but share a similar set of nutrients and health benefits. While all cantaloupes are muskmelons, not all muskmelons are cantaloupes. Locally-grown cantaloupe is much sweeter than the variety grown in the US since they’re picked at a much riper stage than melons that have to travel from down South.

Low in calories, muskmelons are an excellent source of both Vitamins A and C, are high in potassium and are a source of folacin.
